　　课题组长周绍群致力于综合利用多组学数据分析与数量遗传学方法研究植物特异化代谢合成调控与生物胁迫抗性的遗传学机制。他建立了玉米中的高分辨率特异化代谢产物-基因位点关联资源，为玉米化学遗传学研究提供了重要的参考数据集；他鉴定了玉米中一类新型广谱抗真菌特异化代谢产物乙酰基阿魏酸蔗糖苷，并明确了乙烯信号对这类代谢物的调控作用。在基因组研究所生态基因组研究中心，他参与到农科院“优薯计划”与深圳市“新一代绿色害虫防治”孔雀团队中，主要研究课题为马铃薯晚疫病的非寄主抗性机制与玉米抗草地贪夜蛾化学遗传机制的解析。

　　他在国际期刊上共发表论文9篇，Google Scholar被引200余次，其中一作论文5篇。他于2019年获评深圳市海外高层次人才。
