　　宋波副研究员致力于生物信息学和动植物基因组学研究，参与或主导完成了虫黄藻、红茄、蛇蜥等多个基因组测序或重测序项目，致力于全球粮食作物，特别是小作物的基因组和遗传多样性研究。深入研究植物翻译组和小RNA序列，独立开发蛋白编码框预测工具，并将其运用到水稻和小麦等作物的研究中。研究工作获国家自然基金（青年基金）和中国博士后科学基金面上项目（一等）的资助，先后发表SCI研究论文20余篇，其中第一作者或通讯作者8篇，申请发明专利3项。
