
Jiang Zhang, researcher, doctoral supervisor, National Talent Program candidate.
He received his Ph. D. degree from Shanghai Institute of Plant Physiology and Ecology, Chinese Academy of Sciences in 2008. He was a postdoctoral fellow at Max Planck Institute of Molecular Plant Physiology, Germany from 2008 to 2015. His research has focused on plant plastid engineering and insect-resistantbiotechnology . He has established a technical system based on plastid-mediated RNAi technology, which has laid a foundation for the research and development of RNAi-based biological pesticides. His research has been funded by the National Natural Science Foundation of China, National key Research & Development Program, and the Max Planck Partnership Group in Germany. He has published 50 high-profile papers, as first or corresponding author, in Science, Molecular Plant, PNAS, Microbiome, New Phytologist, Trends in Biotechnology, Plant Biotechnology Journal, Journal of Integrative Plant Biology, Plant Cell & Environment, Plant Journal, Pest Management Science , and 10 invention patents.
