Yutao Xiao, Principal Investigator, National Top Young Talents and the chief scientist of the " Agricultural Insect Genomics Innovation Team ". His research focuses on agricultural insects and pest control, especially for the important agricultural pests such as fall armyworm and cotton bollworm. A series of important results have been achieved using multi-omics and molecular biology technologies including gene editing to study the resilience evolution mechanism of agricultural pests. The lab has been supported by over 16 grants, including the National Natural Science Foundation of China, the Key Project for Genetic Modified Organisms Breeding, STI 2030-Major Projects, and the Shenzhen Science and Technology Program, etc.. Papers were published on well-known journals such as PNAS, The Innovation, Advanced Science, Molecular Biology and Evolution, Molecular Ecology Resources, Molecular Ecology, BMC biology,Communicationsbiology, IBMB, PMS, etc.. holds 6 authorized Chinese invention patents, frequently participated in academic conferences and delivered presentations.
