The research group is mainly engaged in the development of omics algorithms: 1) Develop fast and accurate sequence alignment and assembly algorithms; 2) Develop efficient graph genome construction and analysis pipeline; 3) Prepare the standard data set of image phenotype and build a sharing platform，Develop recognition algorithm for plant phenotypic image; 4) Develop DNA digital storage algorithm with high error correction ability; 5) Development of extended sequencing methods: such as low-frequency mutation detection, metagenomic sequencing, etc.; 6) On the basis of the research of omics algorithms, further bioinformatics research are carried out to provide support for the in-depth utilization of omics algorithms.
Hailin Liu: Dr.Hailin Liu, Associate Researcher, awarded as a Shenzhen Pengcheng Peacock Talent. She focuses on gymnosperm genome assembly, development of genome assembly algorithms, and construction of the crop phenotype image database. She established the first chromosomal genome assembly of Ginkgo biloba and participated in the development of SMARTdenovo for long noisy reads assembly (led by Professor Jue Ruan). She is in charge of a National Natural Science Foundation-Youth Foundation project. She was awarded the Youth Science and Technology Innovation Prize of the 2023 Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences (Second Completer). In the past five years, she has published 5 papers as first author/corresponding author (including equal author) in international journals such as Nature Plants、Genomics, Proteomics & Bioinformatics、Industrial Crops and Products etc.
Chongyang Zhang: Chongyang Zhang, Postdoc, who is mainly engaged in the research on the rice blast resistance mechanism. Based on the pathogenic mechanism of M. oryzae effector protein and the resistance mechanism of rice, she further studies the molecular mechanism of interaction between rice and M. oryzae, which lays an important foundation for the development of new disease control strategies. At present, she has published six papers, including 3 papers as the first author in Genome Biology, Plant Biotechnology Journal and Molecular Plant.
