Jianlong Xu, Professor, PhD Supervisor.  “Outstanding talent of the genetics and breeding”  of the Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences (CAAS). His main research is on mining of desirable  genes, cloning and whole genome breeding for high yield, biotic and abiotic stress tolerance of rice. Presided over national projects, GM special projects, international (regional) cooperation and exchange projects of the National Natural Sciences Foundation, major projects of the 14th Five-Year Plan, international cooperation of the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, etc. Published 324 articles at domestic and overseas journals,including 104 articles as the first author or corresponding author, and co-edited two monographs; authorized 26 national invention patents and variety rights, 13 nationally-approved rice varieties and 11 provincially-approved varieties. Awarded first prize of National Scientific and Technological Progress, and first prize of Heilongjiang and Jilin Provincial Scientific and Technological Progress.
