Hongru Wang, Principal Investigator. He received PhD degree from the Institute of Genetics and Developmental Biology, Chinese Academy of Science in 2016, and got his postdoc training in the Institute of Vertebrate Paleontology and Paleoanthropology, Chinese Academy of Sciences from 2016 to 2018, and University of California,Berkeley from 2018 to 2022. His past research involves dissecting genetic basis of natural variations and inferring population histories. The lab  focuses on the rice system (Oryza genus) to work on two research directions: (1) identifying adaptive variants from the temporal-spatial variation of Oryza; (2) genetics and evolution of hybrid incompatibilities. He has published 20+ peer-reviewed papers, including first (or co-first) authors papers published in Nature, Science Advances, Genome Research, Plant Cell, Molecular Plant, etc., and two of them have been highlighted as cover stories. He has served as a reviewer for Molecular Biology and Evolution, Plant Journal, Plant Physiology, Plant Biotechnology Journal
