Cuijun Zhang, Principal Investigator, Doctoral Advisor, “Outstanding Young Talent” of Chinese Academy of Agricultural Science (CAAS). He received his PhD degree in cell biology from Hebei Normal University in 2010 and then did his postdoc research at Purdue University. Cuijun joined AGIS in October, 2019. The main research interests of his lab are focused on improving wheat resistance to Fusarium head blight (FHB) and its adaptability to the environment. This includes: a) elucidating the interactions between Fusarium graminearum and wheat. b) Cloning of FHB resistance genes and their use in wheat breeding. c) Improving FHB resistance and environmental adaptability in wheat through gene editing
