Xiang's Lab focused on characterization of genes controlling seed vigor (dormancy, longevity, and germination ability) under stress conditionsin rice and Arabidopsis through genomics, genetics, molecular biology approaches, and their applications for direct seeding rice breeding.
The research group has 15 personnel, including 1 PI , 1 Assistant Researcher, 2 Postdoctoral fellows, 1 PhD student, 5 MSc students, 5Support and Management Staffs.
Xi Chen ( chenxi02@caas.cn)
Xi Chen, Assistant Researcher, obtained his Ph.D. degree from Wuhan University in 2018 and subsequently conducted postdoctoral research at AGIS, CAAS. His research focuses on the molecular mechanisms of seed dormancy and stress tolerance in plants. He has led a National Natural Science Foundation of China project for young scientists and a postdoctoral project funded by the China Postdoctoral Science Foundation. He has published 10 papers in journals such as "Molecular Plant", "Journal of Integrative Plant Biology", "Plant Cell and Environment", "Plant Journal", and "Journal of Experimental Botany" and has been granted 1 invention patent.
Mengmeng Hou (houmengmeng@caas.cn)
Xu Wang (wangxu03@caas.cn)
Mengmeng Hou, a postdoctoral researcher, obtained him doctoral degree from Nanjing Agricultural University in 2020 and pursued collaborative doctoral training at Wageningen University in the Netherlands. Dr. Hou's research is dedicated to the coordinated regulation of plant hormones and nutrients, with a specific emphasis on elucidating alterations in shoot and root system architecture. His work includes cloning and functional studies of genes associated with cadmium tolerance and accumulation in Solanum nigrum . Dr. Hou has contributed to publications in reputable journals such as "New Phytologist," "Frontiers in Plant Science," and "International Journal of Thermal Sciences." Additionally, he has spearheaded projects supported by Youth Fund of the National Natural Science Foundation of China and the fellowship of China Postdoctoral Science Foundation.
Xu WANG received her PhD from Sorbonne University in France in 2020, and then engaged in postdoctoral research at AGIS, CAAS. She mainly studies d the molecular mechanism of seed dormancy and germination by exploring the central hubs under the synergistic regulation of various plant hormones. She has published 5 papers in journals like JIPB, NAR, SR, IJMS as the first author, and she was recognized as "Overseas High-Caliber Personnel (Level C)" in Shenzhen.
