JianbinYan , Professor, PhD Supervisor, Director of Synthetic Biology Research Center, Chief Scientist of Transcriptome and Metabolome Innovation Group in Agricultural Biology. He received his PhD in Plant Molecular Biology from Tsinghua University in 2010 and continued his postdoctoral research in Tsinghua University from 2010 to 2013. From 2013 to 2018, he studied plant metabolic biology as an assistant researcher/associate researcher at Tsinghua University. After 2018, he worked as a researcher at the Institute of Agricultural Genomics, Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences. His research  focuses on the key scientific issues of plant metabolic biology and the synthesis pathways of important plant metabolites such as paclitaxel. He also studies the signaling pathways and metabolic regulation mechanisms of the plant hormone jasmonin, and reprogram the metabolic network of plant cells, and development of efficient plant synthetic biology chassis. He has published 46 papers in Nature Plant, Mol Plant, Plant Cell and other journals, and obtained 17 invention patents. Many of the papers were specially evaluated, selected into Faculty Opinions or ESI highly cited papers.
