The group has two main focus areas:

a. "Rice-Potato-Pig" ecological cycle breeding system.

b. Research on preparation, evaluation and industrialization strategy of genetically engineered food animals.

1. Production performance evaluation of transgenic food animals: We performed the long-term comprehensive production performance evaluation of MSTN-edited pigs, determined the site effect and breed effect of pig MSTN gene editing, and analyzed the molecular mechanism of MSTN gene-edited homozygote standing difficulty.

2. Social evaluation of transgenic food animals: We innovated the working framework for the classification of transgenic food animals with " Equivalent to Natural Crossbreeding ".

3. Safety evaluation of transgenic food animals: We proposed to rationally simplify the regulatory system of transgenic and gene-edited based on the distinction between them, and clarify the important differences between the applications of gene editing in agricultural breeding and medical treatment.
