Suhua Li Lab

Li lab focuses on the interaction of plant with insects, such as the defense mechanism of potatoes and tobacco, the biosynthesis of secondary metabolites, identify more resistance genes and metabolites, to provide more genetic resources to potato breeding.

The research group has 14 staff members, including 1 PI, 4 postdocs, 7 postgraduates and 2 management and support staff.

PI: Suhua Li ( lisuhua01@caas.cn )
Postdoctoral fellow
    • Doudou Yang: Doudou Yang, PostDoc, completed her Ph.D degree from China Agricultural University CAUin 2021, and subsequently engaged in postdoctoral research at AGIS, CAAS.  Her research focuses on exploring the molecular mechanism of potato resistance to herbivores. Using abundant potato resources and combining with multi-omics analysis techniques such as transcriptome and metabolome, aimed to mining the resistance genes and analysis the regulatory mechanism of potato to response herbivores.

    • Jiang Zhu: Jiang Zhu obtained her Ph.D. Degree from the Institute of Zoology, University of Chinese Academy of Sciences, in 2022. Following that, she worked as a postdoctoral researcher at AGIS, CAAS. Her research is dedicated to exploring the function, regulation, and evolution of insect cytochrome P450.

    • Meiyan Shi:Meiyan Shi  graduated with a Ph.D. Degree  from Huazhong Agricultural University in 2020, where she mainly worked  on the regulation mechanism of citrus fruit quality. She stayed at HZAU as a postdoc fellow in the horticultural plant biology laboratory until Dec 2022. She then joined AGIS, CAAS as a Postdoc researcher, focusing on insect resistance specialized metabolites in potatoes, with the objective of  revealing the mechanism by using multiple-omics, population genetics and molecular biochemistry strategies.

    • Ruirui Lu: Ruirui Lu received her Ph.D. degree from South China Normal University (SCNU) in 2021, and subsequently worked as a postdoctoral researcher at AGIS, CAAS.  Her research interests focus on effects of strigolactone and kai2 on plant symbiosis with AMF.
