Xiaoqing Zhang, obtained doctoral degree from Nanjing Agricultural University in June 2023, and the main research papers were published in journals such as Biology Basel, PMS, and JAFC. At present, the main research direction is the molecular mechanism of gut microbiota assisting locusts in metabolizing plant toxins.

Wei-Kang Han, studied at the College of Plant Protection, Henan Agricultural University during September 2013 to June 2017 . From September 2017 to June 2023, he studied in the College of Plant Protection, Nanjing Agricultural University, majoring in insect chemical ecology and toxicology. The research papers were  published in journals such as IBMB, JAFC, PBP, IMB and IS. The current research direction is the sociological behavior of red fire ants mediated by symbiotic bacteria.
