Research Areas

Yongfeng Zhou
Crop Population Genetics. Zhou Lab primarily focuses on the study of crops and their wild species, investigating (1) the historical dynamics of neutral populations; (2) artificial and natural selection; (3) adaptive and deleterious gene flow; (4) deleterious variation and structural variation; (5) responses to climate change; (6) transposon population genetics; and (7) the dynamic impact of breeding systems on population genetics. Grape Whole-Genome Design Breeding. Zhou Lab aims to identify beneficial, deleterious, and structural variations within natural populations of grapes and their wild species. All variant information will be integrated into grape genome design breeding. (1) the collection, evaluation, preservation, and breeding application of germplasm resources for grapes and their wild species; (2) in-depth analysis of multi-omics big data using machine learning and artificial intelligence algorithms to uncover and interpret the meaning of genomic variations in Vitis  genus ...
Associate Researcher
Yanling Peng (pengyanling@caas.cn) Yanling Peng is a Research Associate from the AGIS in Prof. Yongfeng Zhou’s lab. Before joining this lab, she did a PhD at Martin-Luther-University Halle-Wittenberg and a postdoc in AGIS. She completed her bachelor’s and master’s degree from Lanzhou University. Her research interests focus on the mining of cis-regulatory elements related to key economical traits in the grapevine with the integration of multi-omics. In addition, her interests also involve in studying structure variation in the grapevine.
Postdoc
Hua Xiao (xiaohua01@caas.cn)Hua Xiao is a postdoctoral fellow working on the crop population   genomics. He got a Ph.d in Applied Biological Chemistry in the Univsity of   Tokyo and his preivous work focused on heavy metal transport and response in rice. ZhongJie Liu (liuzhongjie@caas.cn)Zhongjie Liu. I am a post doctor in Agricultural Genomics   Institute at Shenzhen (AGIS) of the Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences   (CAAS). I graduated from Nanjing agriculture university (NJAU) and interested   in the grape organ morphogenesis and phenomics in especial fruit and leaf.   Now, I am shift some attention to study the molecular population genetics and   expected to explain the evolution of muscut in grape. Wenwen Liu (wen.wen.liu@hotmail.com)Wenwen Liu is a postdoctoral fellow working on the grape   population genetics of somatic mutation. Her previous work focuserd on   light-independent regulation mechanism of anthocyanin synthesis in grape. Xiaodong Xu (mazhiyao@caas.cn)...

PI

Fusarium head blight (FHB) is a global wheat disease, and in recent years it has become one of the most important diseases threatening safe production of wheat in China. The main research interests of the Zhang lab are focused on improving wheat resistance to FHB and its adaptability to the environment.

The group includes 3 postdoctoral fellows, 1 research assistant, 2 Ph.D. students, and 10 MSc. students.

Research Team

Lu lab focuses on maize breeding and technology development, molecular mechanisms of crop heterosis.

The research group has 6 staff members, including 1 PI, 3 postgraduates and 2 supporting staff.
